چکیده

ABSTRACT: Andropogon lateralis Nees is a native grass of southern Brazil and one the most frequent specie found in grasslands. The species widely distributed has high degree phenotypic plasticity, which makes it highly adaptable to different edaphoclimatic conditions management. This study aimed evaluate behavior twelve ecotypes A. lateralis, collected regions state Rio Grande do Sul cut three heights subjected two defoliation frequencies. From September February, were evaluated for total dry matter, leaf stem yields. In addition, total, vegetative reproductive tillers plant height measured. These characteristics are important selection superior genotypes terms genetic variability forage production. Total matter with agronomic importance they showed highest correlation (r = 0.77), enabling an indirect these characteristics. natural plants resulted distinct structural, morphological productive heterogeneity that allows grouping according characteristics, can be included breeding programs.

Detecting causality between different frequencies.

Biological systems are usually non-linear and, as a result, the driving signal frequency (say, MHz) is in general not identical with the output frequency (say, N Hz). Coherence and causality analysis have been well-developed to measure the (directional) correlation between input and output signals with identical frequencies (N=M), but they are not applicable to the cases with different frequenc...

Electromyography activity of vastus lateralis muscle during whole-body vibrations of different frequencies.

The aim of this study was to analyze electromyography (EMG) responses of vastus lateralis muscle to different whole-body vibration frequencies. For this purpose, 16 professional women volleyball players (age, 23.9 +/- 3.6 years; height, 182.5 +/- 11.1 cm; weight, 78.4 +/- 5.6 kg) voluntarily participated in the study. Vibration treatment was administered while standing on a vibrating platform w...

Selection of Cow Cockle (Vaccaria hispanica) Ecotypes based on Agronomic Traits under Different Irrigation Regimes

Extended Abstract Introduction and Objective: The cow cockle has a great potential for producing medicinal products due to its triterpenoid saponins. This experiment was aimed to investigate different cow cockle ecotypes under drought stress conditions and select the tolerant ecotype(s) based on agronomic traits using selection indices under different irrigation regimes. Materials and Methods...

Different contributions of local- and distant-regulatory changes to transcriptome divergence between stickleback ecotypes.

Differential gene expression can play an important role in phenotypic evolution and divergent adaptation. Although differential gene expression can be caused by both local- and distant-regulatory changes, we know little about their relative contribution to transcriptome evolution in natural populations. Here, we conducted expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) analysis to investigate the gen...

Measuring phase-amplitude coupling between neuronal oscillations of different frequencies.

Neuronal oscillations of different frequencies can interact in several ways. There has been particular interest in the modulation of the amplitude of high-frequency oscillations by the phase of low-frequency oscillations, since recent evidence suggests a functional role for this type of cross-frequency coupling (CFC). Phase-amplitude coupling has been reported in continuous electrophysiological...
